- Smart lawn design gives you just enough lawn to use and enjoy, but not so much that it’s a burden to maintain. It can be made to feel larger by shaping it into circles, oblongs, and other creative shapes that take the focus off the size and place it on the shape. This effect can be further enhanced by lining the edges of the lawn with pavers, rock gardens, and flower beds that create a transition zone between the lawn and the hardscaping.
