- Improper pH levels. Low pH levels can etch pool plaster. This etched surface can collect dirt, staining the plaster. It can also make it easier for algae to grow.
- Temperature Changes. The expansion and contraction caused by seasonal weather changes and ice formation can quite easily cause chips and cracks.
