- Keep any lumber you have off the ground and as far away from your home as possible. Spiders, ants and snakes all tend to hide out in damp, wooded areas.
- Get rid of any areas with standing water because they’re a breeding ground for mosquitoes, according to the McCauley Blog. Water builds up after summer rain storm in areas including pots, shallow dirt holes and at the bottom of your fire pit.
