The season will soon be changing, and it’s important to winterize or close your pool for the season. Properly winterizing your pool can help prevent costly damages to your pool and help keep your pool looking beautiful for years to come.
Many expert believe that the best time to begin closing your pool for the season is when night time temperatures reach the 40’s, and daytime temperatures reach highs that range from the mid-60’s to low 70’s. If you close your pool too early, algae can build up and damage the surface of your pool.
Before you begin, inspect your pool and equipment and make necessary repairs BEFORE closing down your pool. If everything looks like it is in proper working order, thoroughly clean your pool’s surface and balance your water’s chemistry. Do not leave strong oxidizers in floaters, or drop tablets in the pool before covering it up; I could leave unsightly stains and ruin your pools surface.
