If you have an outdoor patio, then hopefully you take advantage of it during the warmer months of the year. However, you probably won’t get too much use out of it during the winter season. This also means that you’re going to have to winterize your patio to prepare it for the harsher weather. The following are four tips that you should use in order to winterize your patio:
- Store your patio furniture – You don’t want your furniture exposed to the rough elements of winter, so clean it all off and store it inside. Consider covering them with furniture covers as well.
- Put away garden accessories – Take your potted plants indoors and put any that you don’t want to bring inside into the compost. Turn larger containers upside down so that they don’t collect water.
- Clean the grill – If you have an outdoor grill on your patio, be sure to carefully scrub it down. If you’re able to bring it inside, detach the propane tank first.
- Scrub cushions – Any outdoor cushions should be scrubbed clean to avoid mildew or mold growth and then brought inside.
